The Solar Activity Monitor Network – SAMNet

چکیده
The Solar Activity Magnetic Monitor (SAMM) Network (SAMNet) is a future UK-led international network of ground-based solar telescope stations. SAMNet, at its full capacity, will continuously monitor the Sun’s intensity, magnetic, and Doppler velocity fields multiple heights in atmosphere (from photosphere to upper chromosphere). Each SAMM sentinel be equipped with cluster identical telescopes each different magneto-optical filter (MOFs) take observations K I, Na D, Ca I spectral bands. A subset stations have white-light coronagraphs emission line coronal spectropolarimeters. objectives SAMNet are provide observational data for space weather research forecast. goal achieve an operationally sufficient lead time e.g., flare warning 2–8 h many sought-after continuous synoptic maps (e.g., LoS magnetic fields, intensity) lower spatial resolution limited only by seeing or diffraction limit, cadence 10 min. individual sentinels connected their master HQ hub where received from all slave automatically processed issued up 26 advance.

The solar Total Irradiance Monitor: TIM
Launching in 2002 on the EOS SORCE (Solar Radiation and Climate Experiment), TIM is an active cavity radiometer that will point at the Sun on orbit, and monitor the total solar irradiance. The accuracy will be better than 100 ppm (1 σ) with a noise level < 1 ppm each 500 seconds. Sunlight passes through a shutter, a 50 mm aperture, a baffle section; and then is absorbed into a 14 g silver cavit...
متن کاملThe Solar Extreme Ultraviolet Monitor for MAVEN
The Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) monitor is an instrument on the NASA Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) mission, designed to measure the variability of the solar soft x-rays and EUV irradiance at Mars. The solar output in this wavelength range is a primary energy input to the Mars atmosphere and a driver for the processes leading to atmospheric escape. The MAVEN EUV monitor consists o...
متن کاملNeural network prediction of solar activity
The neural network technique is used to analyze the time series of solar activity, as measured through the relative Wolf number. Firstly, the embedding dimension of the time-series characteristic attractor is obtained. Secondly, after describing the design and training of the net, the performance of the present approach in forecasting yearly mean sunspot numbers is favorably compared to that of...
متن کاملLetter to the Editor Longterm prediction of solar activity using Moscow Neutron Monitor Pressure-Corrected Values
In this paper, we use a function similar to the Planck function to reproduce the Moscow Neutron Monitor PressureCorrected Values of the time January 1958 to December 1998 and then give the predicted values after the year 1998. This kind of the values is found to be anticorrelated with sunspot numbers at a very high level when the value series has a backward phase shift of 7 months. An attempt t...
